Lush makeover, great staff, such a great update from the one in the high street. Genuinely can't complain. You're always greeted immediately and there's plenty of seats for waiting. :) Whenever/if ever there's a problem they quickly solve and replenish anything.

Really modern and the team are great! Always people to help and the facilities are extremely useful!!

Barclays Bank

Rutherford Way, Swindon Village, Cheltenham GL51 9TS, UK – 0345 734 5345

Staff are always pleasant and helpful. The building is clean and accessible, wheelchair friendly too. Parking adjacent, which is free. Great location being out of town and near supermarkets and lots of other shops, so you can combine banking and shopping. Only downside is it is used by lots of businesses, so sometimes you may have to join a long queue, however staff do all within their power to keep this to a minimum. It also has an outside cash point. Really useful resource.

Helpful staff , free parking and cues not to bad if you are in a rush.

Dental Surgeries

Oriel Villas Dental Surgery - Dentist Cheltenham

1 Oriel Rd, Cheltenham GL50 1XN, UK – 01242 523531

The dentist was so lovely and comforting and just reassuring the whole time which made me feel differently about going back to the dentist. I recommend them they were efficient and caring and just great overall. I have been very happy with them!

Absolutely fantastic surgery, phoned in the morning got an appointment 11 o'clock. I'm usually so nervous about visiting the dentist but the dentist I saw was amazing, they made me feel at ease and done a brilliant job, my pain was gone in an hour, the whole team were really nice and friendly!

Illume Dentist Practice Cheltenham

3A Queen's Rd, Cheltenham GL50 2LR, UK – 01242 522230

Illume is a fantastic dentist conveniently located in Cheltenham. They provided excellent pain free treatment of a bad tooth. I don't live close, and it is a bit of a trek for a visit to the dentist. But after my first appointment, experiencing the professional, really friendly atmosphere, I won't want anybody else looking after my teeth. You can take for granted the quality of treatment and sympathetic care. I really believe that you get what you pay for. Being with a 'cheap' dentist before taught me that it was just false economy; pay a bit more to get the job done right the first time is my philosophy.

My first visit to Illume and I have never been treated so well. Everyone made me feel comfortable in the practice. Such an amazing difference to the NHS dentist I used to visit. I was completely relaxed. Slightly out of my way, but definitely worth the visit to such a caring dentist.

Smileright ; Cheltenham

197-199 High St, Cheltenham GL50 1DB, UK – 01242 581208

An excellent, quick, efficient and friendly service from Smileright in Cheltenham. No pain and I felt at ease with my treatment from Dr Ntanos - I would definitely recommend.

I always get nervous going to the dentist but Dr Ntanos really made me feel at ease. I even went back to get a mould done so I could get my teeth whitened. (I usually avoid going to the dentist at all costs). He and his assistant are lovely and professional and I'm so happy with my white teeth :)

Underwood Surgery

Underwood Surgery, 139 St George's Rd, Cheltenham GL50 3EQ, UK – 01242 580644

My family and I have been patients at Underwood Surgery for nearly ten years. It has always delivered a good service with very short waits for my young children and a choice of familiar, friendly doctors. In the last couple of years I have noticed we need to wait longer for appointments but I would put this down to cuts from the Conservative government rather than the surgery itself.

Have been with Underwood for 30 years and have always been very well looked after even when they are relay busy

Yorkleigh Surgery

93 St George's Rd, Cheltenham GL50 3ED, UK – 01242 519049

I think the receptionists are very friendly and very helpful, they work extremely hard and never moan even when they are dealing with very rude patients!! the doctors have always been professional and friendly too

Excellent doctors, can usually get an appointment for that week/ day. Very kind

Leckhampton Surgery

Cheltenham General Hospital

Sandford Rd, Cheltenham GL53 7AN, UK – 0300 422 2222

Have always found it clean. Having been in several different departments & have found all levels of staff caring & helpful. Its easy to get lost but theres always someone to direct you to the right department. There are times you have to wait but not suprising how many people have appointments. I have been in A& E several times on emergency again staff have been great altho overworked & no doubt tired. The down side is that staff in the wards are overworked & cant be in two places at one time.

We travelled down from Coventry to Cheltenham General to visit my father after his recent hip operation . We found parking easy and stress free . All the staff were very friendly and caring . A big thank you to everyone involved, especially the staff in Alstone ward and critical care.

Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital

Hatherley Ln, Cheltenham GL51 6SY, UK – 01242 246500

Outstanding care throughout. Nothing was too much trouble. Really positive, cheerful and friendly staff. Very glad I made the choice to have my operation at the Nuffield Cheltenham.

Staff very caring and a good atmosphere between them. Would definitely recommend Nuffield. Food good and private room very clean. Thankyou to all that supported me through my stay.❤ Big thankyou also to Miss Hillaby.❤

Find Recycling Centres

Swindon Road Recycling Centre

Swindon Rd, Cheltenham GL51 9JZ, UK – 01242 264244

Ideal for smaller rubbish trips, I'd use the one north of Cheltenham if you have larger items. Doesn't take all items as well, such as plasterboard, best to check the council site before visiting. Staff are always helpful.

Public free place to recycle all kinds of things: cardboard, electronic components, glass, furnitures, wood...

Recycling bank

Cheltenham GL50 9SA, UK

This is well organised recycling collection point. You can dispose here: Glass, Paper, Cans, Textile and shoes, Foil, Cardboards, Mixed plastics, Beverage cartons. No books and videos.

Furniture Recycling Project

294 High St, Cheltenham GL50 3HQ, UK – 01242 220296

Good selection of used furniture. Friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable prices. Just be careful removing the price stickers after purchase... The glue is a little overenthusiastic.

Great variety, great prices and good quality for second hand. Also, very helpful staff.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Cheltenham

Golden Mountain Cheltenham - Chinese Restaurant

63 Winchcombe St, Cheltenham GL52 2NE, UK – 01242 222361

Ive eaten at the Golden Mountain twice over the past month and can not fault the food. Everything we ordered arrived piping hot and the dishes were delicious. I would not hesitate in recomending the Golden Mountain to others, and i will certainly be returning there in the future.

All you can eat and the food is freshly prepared for you. And Oh my goodness it is delicious. This will be my only Chinese restaurant in Cheltenham for now on.

Hei Kitchen Chinese Restaurant

412 High St, Cheltenham GL50 3JA, UK – 01242 210288

Lovely staff and great food every time :)

Friendly lady took my order and gave advice as I had no menu. Food arrived in 20 minutes hot and fresh. Was lovely. A tad costly but you get what you pay for it suppose. It was Boxing Day after all. Impressed and will use again.

The Suffolk Kitchen

8 Suffolk Parade, Cheltenham GL50 2AB, UK – 01242 237057

Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Sunday lunch is good, they are not stingy on potato's and you can ask for extra gravy 😊

Small but warm restaurant, it's an ideal place for lunch. We take the lunch menu and we like the food a lot. Highly recommended for the house wine.

Nursery and Preschools

Winton House

11 Warden Hill Rd, Cheltenham GL51 3AU, UK – 01242 511417

My daughter attends Winton House but my eldest went to another local nursery full time for 4 years so I do have something to make a comparison with and can't speak highly enough of Winton House and the staff there. Jo is very approachable and familiar and the staff welcome my daughter with open arms every morning. She hates being left with anyone else but loves arriving at Winton House to start her day which speaks volumes.

My son has been going to Winton House for six months. He absolutely loves it and can't wait to leave home in the morning to get there! It's a lovely environment and the staff appear very friendly and helpful. We chose this day nursery having seen quite a few others in the area and have been very pleased with our choice. We would definitely recommend it.

Foxcubs Day Nursery

Chapel House, Old Reddings Rd, The Reddings, Cheltenham GL51 6SA, UK – 01452 857449

Both of my children absolutely loved Foxcubs. The staff are amazing and so friendly, activities are well thought out and planned. Nursery is spotless too and good outdoor area. Both of my children thrived here. Very well organised nursery and fully recommended.

Bright Eyes Day Nursery

6 Knapp Rd, Cheltenham GL50 3QQ, UK – 01242 702772

Katherine and the team at Brighteyes have been brilliant at settling my son in. He was very nervous to begin with but with their continued support he is now happy and enjoys his time there.

Airthrie School

Lovely school and what lovely teachers. Highly recommend.

This week, with my business Immersive Theatres, I delivered a 4m digital planetarium experience to all 130 students of Airthrie Primary School. From the moment I arrived I was warmly greeted, assisted and made to feel very welcome by the staff and headteacher. Yet the students were the highlight, because, although very excited, they were respectful and well-behaved in the dome. Thank you Airthrie Primary for a very pleasant visit.

All Saints' Academy

Blaisdon Way, Cheltenham GL51 0WH, UK – 01242 711200

All Saints Academy really know how to shape you into a better person. Have 3 children at that school and not one of them have ever had any trouble. Teachers are lovely and so caring, I wouldn't want my children going anywhere else. The Academy offers so many opportunities and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the drama department- cannot fault!!

Recently finished year 13 and I have continuous praise for the school. The teachers are just incredible! They all have a genuine passion and care for the education and nurture of its pupils. I have had countless opportunities to learn more than just a textbook; have grown as a person from experiences such as traveling across the world to Tanzania to build a school year 10. I have really had the chance to learn what it takes not just to pass my exams but how to be a rounded person.
